A "Fair"-ly Good Day

Last weekend I went to the Orange County Fair. Mommy and I went early in the morning so we coud explore while it was still cool and not too crowded. It was great. They had a beach area set up with little cars I got to play on and a big sandbox with lots of buckets and shovels. They also had a toy area that was for kids just my size. I tried out most of the chairs and did a little rearranging. We saw so many exciting things. I was awed by the Chinese dragons that danced right in front of me. The fair had a large livestock area. I got to see cows, sheep, chickens, pigs, goats and rabbits. I even pet a cow and a sheep. One of the best parts of the fair is the food. I had my very first corndog. I loved it! After lunch I fell asleep in my stroller - I'd had such an exciting morning I was beat! After I woke up, Mommy took me back to the car so we could switch my stroller for my backpack. The fair was getting busy and all I could see from my stroller were legs. Daddy and our friend Eric met up with us soon afterward. We went to part of the fair with rides and I got to go on a carosel for the first time. I really liked it at first, then I decided I wanted to get off. Mommy thought that was it, but after she put me down I ran right back in line to go on again. I did get a 2nd ride later - Daddy took me. We all walked around the fair, looking at everything, and eating for the rest of the day. We took a break at the Baja Blues Cantina and I really enjoyed some lemonade. At dusk we got in line for a concert. We saw Wierd Al. He was very funny. I clapped and waved my arms to the music. We all had a very wonderful day. Mommy can't wait to take me again next summer.
