My First Hanukkah
The holidays arrived and what to my wondering eyes did appear...eight nights of candles, presents and treats! My first Hanukkah was alot of fun. We lit the menorah each night and said prayers. Mommy and Daddy gave me a new book each night for 7 nights and then on the eighth I got a cool toy. Mommy made all sorts of neat latkes. She made traditional ones with applesauce - I liked those! Then she made some from sweet potatoes and on another night she made them from apples. I liked those best. We had the leftovers the next morning for breakfast and they were delicious. My friends and family got me gifts too! My favorite was a cool rocket car that lights up and makes sounds from "Uncle" Eric. I had a fantastic holiday.

Just a Little Off the Top Please
I go my first big boy haircut! My bangs were hanging down into my eyes and Mommy was too nervous to try and trim it herself so she took me to a special kids salon called First Cuts. I got to sit in a rocket-ship chair and watch Sesame Street and play with toys while I got my hair trimmed.
It was really fun.
I think the stylist did a very good job - don't you?

Thankful For My Family
Mommy says it's time to update the blog. We are behind because we were away and then we all got sick. In November we took a big trip. We flew to Charlotte, North Carolina for Thanksgiving. We visited my Great Grandma Mina and Great Grandpa Morris and our cousins, Paul, Chellie, Rachel, Tali, Jayden and Levi. It was a long flight and Daddy says we connected in Phoenix, AZ but I must have slept through because sure don't remember Arizona at all. We got to Charlotte very early in the morning - it was still dark. It was very cold compared to Southern California. I could see my breath in front of me. I was glad Mommy got me a warm coat with a furry hoody. We had such a wonderful time! I especially enjoyed playing with my cousin Levi - he's my size! After a few days, we drove 3 hours to Fayetteville (I slept almost the whole way!) to see my Grandma Toni, Aunt Vanessa, and cousins Seamus, Darby, Aidan and Bridey. We had my first Thanksgiving dinner with them. I like turkey!! And they had the best animal crackers! I played for a couple more days with them before heading back to Charlotte. My cousins have a train table in their living room that was just my size; it was great. I had such a wonderful time!

Gone to the birds....er, I mean ducks
Mommy took me to the lake on Friday to feed the ducks. Wow! There were so many of them and they came up so very close. I loved to watch them swim and waddle around. There were several different kinds to see. The big white ones very a little pushy - I guess they were really hungry! I can't wait to go back again. Next time I want my friend Noah to come too.

My First Halloween
Wow Halloween is fun! Mommy and Daddy took me to a carnival at Calvary Church. They had games where you won candy, jumpy-houses, a puppet show and live bands playing. I have never seen so many people! Or so many dressed up so funny! I dressed up as a Dalmatian. My friend Noah was there too. My favorite part was I got a balloon!

Mommy's Little Pumpkin
Today Mommy took me to meet my friend Noah and go to the Pumpkin Patch. We liked it very much. I especially enjoyed the hay even though Mommy wouldn't let me eat it. There were animals there too. I really liked the goats. Mommy said that is probably because they remind me of Sally. But there were chickens, ducks, a goose and a turkey too. They had pony rides but Mommy said I wasn't big enough yet. We did get to ride in a little wagon. We had a very good time. I hope Mommy takes me back again tomorrow!

Here's Looking At You Kid
Party Animal
Last week I got to go to my first birthday party. My friend Oriah turned 1! It was a Curious George themed party so there were lots of monkeys everywhere. I like monkeys. Daddy and Mommy took me to the party. We all had a very good time. There was lots of food, friends and even a pinata. I also had my very own cupcake for the first time. I enjoyed that the most!
Next week is my friend Noah's birthday party. He is turning 1 too. I can't wait! Party! Party! Party!
Free-range Sammy
Since I have started "cruising" around the house, Daddy and Mommy thought it would be a good indea to get me a walker. We picked one out that kinda looks like a little car. I like that it lights up and plays music. There are all sorts of fun things on it. The horn on the steering wheel really beeps too! I like being able to move around the house in it. Watch out here I come!

Frequent Flyer
Haven't posted lately because we have been so busy!!! Mommy and I just got back from our big trip to Denver to see my Great Grandma and Fort Myers to see my Grandma. We had a great time. While in Denver I got to go to the zoo for the first time. There were so many animals to see. I loved it. There were peacocks just roaming around free and squirrels everywhere. I especially liked watching the penguins though. I had a very good visit with Great Grandma - she's really great! She had a saucer there for me to play in (and eat cookies! Yum!) She and Mommy drove me to Castlerock to see a friend. It was beautiful there. We also went and got our pictures taken together. We had lots of fun. Mommy got me an inflatable tub for my baths while we were away; I liked playing in it alot. I also met a cute girl! After a week in Denver, we flew to Fort Myers, FL. Grandma and Auntie YaYa (A.K.A. Corina) were very glad to see me. So was Grandpa Steve. We played alot. Grandpa Steve has a boat and we took it to the restaurant for lunch one day. I really like riding it in. I also liked Grandma's pool. Mommy and I went swimming every day. While I was away, I learned how to crawl. That wasn't exciting enough though. I figured out how to pull myself up to stand by holding on to things. I fall down alot but I am getting better every day. On the way home from FL we stopped back in Denver for a few days to break up the trip and give Mommy a little break. It also helped me with the time change. The finally it was time to go home. I was sooo happy to see Daddy and Dubya and Sally. Next time I go on a trip I hope at least Daddy can go with us too. I don't think they would let Dubya and Sally sit next to us on the plane.........

Big Move
We have been so busy! We have just moved to a new house. I like it alot. Here is a picture of the front and one of me in my crib in my new room. Mommy likes that it is a single level and she doesn't have to Sammy-proof stairs. I like the carpet in my room and the big mirrored closet doors so I can watch myself play. Now that Mommy we are in Irvine and Mommy isn't working at the animal clinic anymore we go on walks with the dogs every morning. There are lots of bunnies in the neighborhood and alot of little lakes so we can watch duckies. There is also a playground just around the corner; I like the swings. Everyone is invited to come visit us!

Jessie and TJ's Wedding
As you all may know, I love a good party and especially a good wedding party! Today I went to a wedding for a second time. This one was special, not just because it was Jessie and TJ, but because they got engaged on the same day I went to our congregation for the first time. They got married in Dana Point overlooking the harbor. It was very beautiful, but not as beautiful as the bride. Since we were at the harbor, mom had me where my sailor suit. My friend Noah was in the wedding. He was the ring bearer and got to ride in his wagon. I thought that looked like alot of fun.
I got to visit with alot of my friends. Here's a picture of me with Sarala - she's nice!
Daddy always makes sure I am having a good time!

Dedicated To The One I Love
Last weekend my parents had a dedication ceremony for me at our congregation. I got all dressed up. We were all called up to the front and Rabbi Larry said some special prayers for me and my mom and dad. Then Mom and Dad both spoke and said some special things about me and then they said a prayer for me too. It was a little long for me and I was a bit wiggly and I did pull my mom's hair some too. I really wanted to eat, whoops, I mean hold the microphone But what do you expect.....I am only 6 months old! In the end, they weren't so much dedicating me, but dedicating themselves to teaching and caring for me. It was a very special day!
